How to Massage

Using Your Aromatherapy Oils

You can use your aromatherapy oils to add to your bathwater (about 10 drops should be sufficient), to create your own lotions, and to add to the dried potpourri in your home to customize scents for certain rooms in your home. You can also purchase an aroma diffuser so that you can even distribute your favorite scent throughout the home (diffusers are usually available at the same place you purchase the aromatherapy oils). If you want to make your own potpourri, you can start by gathering dried leaves or flowers, place them in a small dish with a lid, and add your favorite aromatherapy oil combination to the potpourri; it’s best to leave the lid on the potpourri for a few days to give the oil a chance to be absorbed. You can even create your own perfume using aromatherapy oils by adding about 25 drops of oil to every one ounce of water or scentless carrier oil.

Of course, one of the most effective ways to use aromatherapy oils is to breathe the scent in directly from the bottle. This way, you can use your aromatherapy oils any time, as certain oils have been known to relieve muscle tension and headaches.
